Industries and use cases

Where Loop works

Loop adapts to the actions, rewards and journeys that matter in each industry, from a trail across a region to a repeat-visit program for a single venue.

Platform overview

Loop is a loyalty, website, and community platform that helps local businesses turn customers into repeat visitors and promoters. Businesses choose the features they need; members earn credits for visits, purchases, reviews, and social posts and spend them on real rewards.

What it is

Loop combines six independent products that can be used alone or together:

Feature What it does
Website A branded, mobile-first site on your own Loop subdomain (e.g. yourcafe.loop.do)
Menu An AI-built digital menu with images and a QR code
Punch Cards Digital stamp cards collected by scanning an in-store QR code
Rewards Club A credits-based loyalty program with tasks, rewards, milestones and partner exchange
Photo Competitions Customer photo contests with public voting and prizes
Email Marketing Included with every plan: broadcasts, automations, re-engagement and sign-up widgets

Who it is for

  • Cafés, restaurants, bars, wineries and breweries
  • Retail boutiques, salons, gyms and service businesses
  • Business associations, main-street precincts and tourism boards running a shared "pass"
  • Event organisers and destinations wanting user-generated content

How it works

  1. A business signs up and picks features.
  2. Anna, Loop's AI assistant, asks a few questions and builds the site, menu, rewards and competition with live previews.
  3. Customers join as members, earn credits and redeem rewards in person with a PIN.
  4. The business tracks results in the dashboard and grows through partners, email and referrals.

Getting started with Anna

Anna is Loop's AI setup assistant that builds your site, menu, rewards and competitions for you, step by step, with a live preview. Most businesses are live in under 15 minutes.

Setup steps

  1. Choose your features. Select any combination of Website, Menu, Punch Cards, Rewards Club and Photo Competitions. Email Marketing is always included.
  2. Reserve your site. Anna reserves your subdomain — your business name in lowercase, without spaces or hyphens — and prepares it for you to customise.
  3. Enter your details. Business name, what you do and the vibe of the place, contact details, Google Maps link and social profiles.
  4. Anna builds. She builds in order — homepage, then menu, then rewards — showing each step in a real preview. Menu items are reused for rewards so you don't enter anything twice.
  5. Review and publish. Edit anything in the dashboard, then share your link and QR codes.

What Anna creates

  • A full-width homepage hero image generated from your vibe, with an introduction and content sections
  • A digital menu with AI images (if chosen)
  • At least three rewards with images, and starter tasks: follow on social, spend, leave a review, refer a friend, like & comment, post a photo, post a reel (if Rewards Club is chosen)
  • A photo competition with banner, dates and prizes (if chosen)

Anna asks once for any missing details (such as a Google Maps link or Instagram handle). If you skip them, she simply leaves out the tasks that need them. Providing all details gives you the richest program.

Photo-competition-only setup

If you only choose Photo Competitions, setup is minimal: business name, what you do and the vibe, branding colours, competition description, end date and three prizes. Anna generates a venue hero and competition banner and finishes on your competition page.

Website builder

Every Loop business gets a fast, branded website with a homepage, custom pages, and built-in loyalty features. It lives at yourbusiness.loop.do and can be edited without code.

Features

  • Homepage editor with inline sections: hero image, introduction, featured tasks and rewards, photo competition, content blocks, and email sign-up
  • Custom pages at /p/your-page
  • Navigation that adapts to the features you turn on (Tasks, Rewards, Competition, Menu, Reviews, Tips, Gallery, Partners)
  • Branding: logo, colours, fonts, light or dark task cards, sidebar colour
  • Layouts: choose between compact and focused layouts for your storefront
  • Features tab: turn Website, Menu, Punch Card and Rewards on or off at any time — Punch Cards and Rewards can run together
  • Tracking pixels for Meta, Google and other ad platforms
  • SEO and social previews generated automatically for every page

Menu-only businesses are sent straight to their menu page; punch-card businesses get a dedicated /punchcard page.

Rewards Club and credits

The Rewards Club is a credits-based loyalty program: members earn credits for actions and spend them on rewards you define. Businesses can name their currency (for example "Yarra Credits" or "GoM Points").

How credits work

  • Members earn credits by completing tasks, checking in, entering competitions and referring friends.
  • Each reward has a credit cost. Members can wishlist rewards and see exactly how far away they are.
  • Rewards are redeemed in person with a 4-digit PIN shown to staff, so redemption is quick and fraud-resistant.
  • Members can gift unclaimed rewards to friends by email or username.
  • Credits earned at partner businesses can be exchanged 1:1 into your currency within monthly limits (see Partner networks).

Business setup

  1. Open Rewards in the dashboard.
  2. Add rewards with title, description, image (or let AI generate one) and credit cost.
  3. Activate, pause or archive rewards at any time.
  4. Toggle the Rewards section visibility on your site.

Budget

Businesses fund their program with a dollar budget. Task payouts are costed against it, and if the balance reaches zero you are prompted to top up so members are never let down.

Earning tasks

Tasks are the actions members complete to earn credits, from checking in to posting a reel. Loop verifies most tasks automatically with AI.

Task types

Task How it's verified
Daily check-in One check-in per day with a streak tracker
Visit check-in Scan an in-store QR code; 24-hour cooldown
Spend / receipt upload Receipt scanning reads merchant, date and total; duplicates are rejected
Google review Link to your Google Maps listing; star rating and text checked
Follow on social Instagram, TikTok, Facebook
Like & comment Engage with your latest posts from your profile
Social post Post a photo tagging your business
Social reel / TikTok Post a short video tagging your business
Weekly tip Share a local tip (see Weekly Tips)
Refer a friend Earn when an invited friend joins
Add to home screen Install the site as an app
Questionnaire Answer a short survey

Default values are sensible starting points (for example review 2,500, photo 500, reel 6,000 credits) and can be changed per task. Each task has a brief that tells members exactly what to do and tells the AI how to score it.

Member experience

The Tasks page shows "Ways to Earn" first, grouped into visual cards ranked by value — higher-value cards are more prominent. Partner businesses appear in a carousel so members can discover other venues.

Digital punch cards

Loop punch cards replace paper stamp cards: customers scan a QR code at the counter to collect a stamp. Complete the card to unlock a reward.

  • Print or display the check-in QR code (available under Promote).
  • Customers scan, sign in once, and a stamp is added — with protection against double scans.
  • Configure stamps needed, reward and card design.
  • Punch cards can run alone or alongside the Rewards Club.

Photo competitions

Photo competitions invite customers to post photos of your venue, with the public voting for winners. They generate authentic content and bring new people to your site through vote sharing.

Two competition types

  • Credits competitions (with Rewards Club): members earn credits for entering and voting, can build voting streaks, and top places win credits.
  • Prize competitions (no Rewards Club needed): no credits or streaks. Winners receive real prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place, chosen from your rewards. Most votes wins, so entrants are encouraged to invite friends to vote.

Setup

Basics (title, description), Schedule (start, end date, timezone, time), Banner image, Earning (credits competitions only), Prizes, and Rules (country voting restrictions, winner rewards).

Integrity

  • Photo metadata checks help confirm photos are genuine.
  • Voters verify their email with a 6-digit code on first vote.
  • Optional voting restriction by country and daily vote limits (credits competitions).
  • Prizes are awarded automatically when the competition ends.

Winning and approved photos from ended competitions appear in your Gallery. Prize rewards show in the dashboard Rewards list marked as competition prizes and are claimed with the usual PIN flow.

Milestones, streaks and leaderboards

Milestones reward members for completing a number of tasks; streaks reward consistency; leaderboards show top members.

  • Milestones unlock bonus credits after a set number of distinct completed tasks. They appear once a member has completed their first task.
  • Milestone Missions in competitions reward members for continued participation after submitting a photo.
  • Streaks track consecutive daily check-ins and votes.
  • Leaderboards (off by default) rank members by credits earned, including referral bonuses and excluding spending and admin top-ups. Leaderboard competitions can run for set periods.
  • Tiers and achievements celebrate progress.

Digital Passport: Milestone Trails, routes and itineraries

Loop's Digital Passport turns a precinct, town or region into a collectable journey: members check in at venues along a trail, collect stamps and unlock rewards for completing routes. It is designed for business associations, tourism boards, wine regions and events.

What it is

A Digital Passport is a set of Milestone Trails. Each trail is a curated route of partner venues — for example "Grey Lynn Coffee Crawl", "Yarra Valley Cellar Door Trail" or "Weekend Itinerary: Food & Art". Members follow the route on a map, check in at each stop, and earn milestone rewards as they progress.

How it works

  1. Build a trail. A hub business selects venues from its partner network, orders them into a route, and adds a title, description and cover image.
  2. Set milestones. Reward members at points along the route (e.g. 3 of 6 stops) and for completing it.
  3. Publish itineraries. Group trails into themed itineraries — a day trip, a weekend or a seasonal event.
  4. Members explore. Members see the trail on the Discovery map with grouped markers, check in by scanning each venue's QR code, and watch their passport fill up.
  5. Unlock rewards. Completing milestones awards credits or unlocks exclusive rewards redeemable at participating venues.

Why it matters

  • Drives foot traffic between businesses instead of to just one
  • Gives visitors a ready-made plan for their day
  • Provides the hub with measurable data on how visitors move through the area

Use cases

  • Main-street associations running a shop-local passport
  • Wine and food regions promoting cellar door trails
  • Festivals and events with venue-hopping challenges
  • Tourism boards packaging multi-day itineraries

Partner networks and business hubs

Partner networks connect businesses so members can discover partners, earn at every venue, and exchange credits between them. A business hub (such as a regional pass or business association) sits at the centre of a network.

  • Connect with partner businesses on the Community plan.
  • Partners appear on your Partners page and in the Tasks carousel with banner, name, description and tasks.
  • Credit exchange: members swap credits between partner currencies 1:1, within monthly limits.
  • Hub sites feature partner rewards, pooled photo competitions and a Discovery Trail map.
  • Partner analytics show how many unique members moved between businesses and how much they spent.
  • Partnerships can be archived (keeping history) or deleted.

Example: a regional pass hub with 19 wineries and cafés, where members who join at one venue go on to spend at others.

Community, friends and referrals

Loop turns members into promoters with referrals and a friends list.

  • Every member gets a referral link. The referrer earns a 10% bonus on all credits their referred friends earn.
  • New members are attributed to the business where they signed up.
  • Members can add friends, see friends' activity and gift rewards.

Reviews

Reviews collects customer feedback on your site and rewards members for leaving Google reviews. A "Leave a review and earn credits" button opens a review form directly on the page. Reviews appear on your site and in the dashboard.

Weekly Tips

Weekly Tips is a fun community feed where members share tips about your business or area. Tips are at least 250 characters, can include photos and can be edited. Members can post one tip per week and earn credits; likes and comments also earn credits. Tips are moderated before publishing.

The Gallery shows approved photos from ended photo competitions in a shuffled square grid with a full-screen viewer. It is on by default and can be turned off.

Loop's AI menu builder creates a beautiful digital menu from your existing menu, with images for each dish.

  • Upload or paste your menu; Anna organises it in natural dining order (starters, mains, desserts, drinks).
  • Wide AI-generated food images for each item, or upload your own.
  • A printable QR code for tables.
  • Non-food businesses can list services instead of a menu.
  • Menu items can be reused as rewards.

Email marketing

Email marketing is included in every Loop plan: send broadcasts, automate welcome series, and win back inactive members.

Broadcasts

Send one-off emails to members or imported contacts. Delivery, opens and clicks are reported per broadcast.

Automations

  • Newsletter Signup series: a welcome email plus any number of timed follow-ups, reorderable.
  • Trigger emails for events such as joining, earning and rewards.

Re-engagement emails

Re-engagement emails are personalised win-back emails built from each member's credit balance, wishlist and incomplete tasks.

  • Members are grouped into up to six segments based on the rewards that suit them.
  • Each email shows the member's exact balance, wishlisted rewards first, how far they are from each reward, and up to three recommended tasks — easiest first, one per task type.
  • Active photo competitions are included as an extra way to take part.
  • Businesses with partners can choose to include partner rewards, creating a mix of their own and partner rewards, each labelled with the venue.
  • Review every email one by one before sending, send individually, or send all in the background.

Deliverability

  • Unsubscribed and bounced addresses are always excluded.
  • Imported lists are sent gradually to protect your sender reputation, and sending pauses automatically on high bounce or complaint rates.
  • Imported contacts are not members and never receive member-only emails.

Sign-up widget and contacts

The Loop sign-up widget collects email addresses on any website and adds them to your contact list.

  • Inline mode: a centered form in a page section. Popup mode: appears after a delay, remembers dismissals.
  • Customise colours, text, size, first-name field and consent checkbox, with live preview.
  • Copy one line of code to embed it on any website, including WordPress, Shopify, Squarespace and Wix.
  • Built-in spam protection and duplicate handling.
  • On by default (inline) for new Website sites, as a homepage section; can be added to other pages or turned off.
  • Contacts are labelled by source (Imported vs Website widget) and can be enrolled in the Newsletter Signup series.

Member CRM

The Members tab lists every member with their credits, activity, rewards and where they joined. Filter and search members, see engagement, partner attribution and referral source, and adjust credits when needed.

Analytics

Loop analytics show how your program performs, driven directly from members' credit activity.

  • Site visits, sign-ups and active members
  • Task completions by type, including tips, reviews, receipts, social and check-ins
  • Rewards redeemed and credits issued vs spent
  • Receipt-verified spend at your business and across partners
  • Email delivery, opens and clicks
  • Presentation mode for sharing results in meetings

Promotion tools and QR codes

The Promote tab gives you ready-made QR codes and materials to bring customers into your program.

  • Visit check-in QR (in-store stamp or check-in)
  • General loyalty program QR linking to your site
  • Menu QR for tables
  • Competition QR for photo-comp-only businesses

Only the materials relevant to your chosen features are shown.

Wallet passes and home-screen app

Members can save their loyalty card to Apple Wallet or Google Wallet and install your site as an app on their phone. Wallet passes show their balance and bring them back with notifications; an optional task rewards adding the site to the home screen.

Loop offers three plans: Free, Grow and Community. Prices display in your local currency — USD, EUR (same values as USD), GBP and AUD.
